Who are the most inspirational ultra runners of the year?

Once again it’s time I put together my annual list of the most inspirational ultra runners of the year.

I changed things up a bit last year, splitting the list up into one for women and a second for men, expanding the total number of honorees to 50. Like last year, I will determine any nonbinary athletes individually and confirm privately with them about how best to include them.
