Nathan’s Zipster Lite simplifies how to carry items on a short run

The Nathan Zipster Lite can fit a phone, but it's tight.

Many runners need options for carrying their phone, nutrition and other items on the go. For my shorter runs, I tend to favor stashing my to-go items in the pockets of my shorts.

But not all my shorts have pockets and I don’t want to wear a vest if I am only going to be out for an hour or so. So I needed a solution that would allow me to carry items on a short run without interfering with my gait.

Then I discovered the Nathan Zipster Lite, which Nathan provided me in exchange for this review. The band features two zippered, weather-resistant pockets and two folded pockets. The former can fit most but not all phones, though it was really tight for my iPhone12 and its case. (You may want to consider the Zipster Max, which says it can accommodate all sizes of smartphones.) The Zipster Lite’s smaller pockets can easily fit gels, key and other like-sized items.

The lightweight band, made of stretch mesh, comfortably form-fits around your waist. Definitely check your size on Nathan’s chart as some online reviewers have expressed concerns about proper sizing.

The Nathan Zipster Lite, which is lighter than previous models, is easy to slip on and off.

Color options include black, navy, magenta, and a purple and pink combo.

Since I travel quite a bit the Zipster Lite is a great option as it’s easy to transport, solves the issue of carrying items on the go and is super comfortable. And speaking of such, I have a five-miler run planned now, so I am going to warm up, put on the Zipster Lite and head out.
